I thought I would create a new line of Cosmic Jewellery for my etsy and Crafty Magpie
shops on-line. I wanted to portray a feeling of space, galaxy's, nebula's and the cosmos in my designs.
I have a plentiful stock of micro beads, glitter, micro confetti and mylar flakes.
So which colour shall I pick first, its an Aladdin's cave of colours in my craft room.
Purple is my favourite colour so I thought I would start there.
I fancied using my new 1" pendants I ordered from China recently. so these fitted my requirements nicely.
I also ordered necklaces, sterling silver and 18K gold plated and various silver and bronze rings, so I could use all of these in my Cosmic Collection.
All I have to do now is sort out my colour palette of beads and glitter and I'll be well away in my "Crafting Zone".
I recently purchased some Gedeo Crystal Resin and Amazing Clear Cast Resin.
Both of these resins have had mixed reviews on-line so I thought I would try them out for myself.
The Amazing Clear Cast Resin was good to use, no real problems with mixing the 1 to 1 equal parts of resin. No unpleasant smell while mixing and curing only took about 10 hours before I could demold my items.
I guess I could have waited a little longer for the items to harden a bit more but I'm an Aries - very impatient!
Especially if you can't see through the mold. But I suppose that's the nice surprise when
using resin - "The Unknown Ending"
Next I tried out the Gedeo Crystal Resin, now this was very different. You have to wait at least 24 hours before you can de-mold or your item will be ruined not to mention the gooey resin mess that you will end up with. But it's worth waiting for - very crystal clear items.
Overall very pleased with both the resins I tried. The Gedeo Crystal Resin was £17.00 and
the Amazing Clear Cast Resin was £12.00
